This knife has a smooth action, nice feel and an elegant look. I’m very pleased to see that Buck is still making quality knives without plastic handles. We’ll see how it stands the test of time as I would love to be able to pass a Buck hunting knife on to my son as my father was able to do for me.

I was looking for a hunting knife for field dressing and originally considered a few Gerbers. I wasn’t particularly happy with the variation in Gerber’s build quality and build location between knives for how much they cost, most were pretty expensive and still made in China or Taiwan.

The Buck is made in the USA and was a great deal on Amazon. I’ve been more impressed than I expected with the build quality and solid feel of the knife. I was originally concerned about using a lockback/folder as a hunting knife, but figured I’d get more use as it’s more reasonable to carry around a folder. The mechanism is very solid with no play at all, and they did a great job with indentation to make the knife comfortable to hold in multiple positions while using it.

Overall, extremely happy with the knife! Great quality, solid feel, and quality 154CM steel. I’ll probably stick with Buck in the future.
