  1. In actuality, I would give the Buck Bantam BLW 3.5 stars out of 5.

The 420HC is super sharp out of the box, the blade shape is attractive and the belly is pronounced. However, the platform for the blade is sub-par. I have a few problems with the knife: it is blade-heavy – unbalanced, the folding mechanism for my knife is incredibly stiff (riveted), and my final gripe is that the pocket clip does not allow for a tip-up carry.

Overall, I don’t regret buying the knife. It was a great price on Amazon and with Amazon Prime the shipping was free. With some oil and movement, I think I will be able to get the blade moving smoothly. For the price-point, Buck does a great job on the blade. This will definitely be a knife I beat up.
