I’m a deer hunter who guts and butchers a lot of deer (6 per season). I use this Buck knife and it is a charm! First off, it holds its sharp edge for a long time – the mark of quality hardened steel in the blade. Second, it has a ergometric handle so it feels balanced in the hand. Finally, it has the gut hook feature which makes the gut slit a breeze with little or no chance of nicking an intestine and spilling excrement in the body cavity.
I have several Buck knives and although they cost more, you are geting quality for the price and the knife will last you many, many seasons if you care for it. I have been using the same Buck knife for deer hunting for nearly 30 years! I have found none better than Buck.
