The knife is sturdy and has a great grip. Assisted opening is very smooth with a good lock. Only complaints would be that it is a bit heavy and the liner lock is very stiff. Hard to close one handed, but this will probably solve itself in time as it gets loose. The blade wasn’t that sharp out of the box, but holds an edge well. I would definitely buy this knife again.

Great quality knife especially for the price. Bought a few for gifts after I enjoyed my own purchase very much.

This knife is great! It has good size and is strong. The only downside is that it can be a little tough to lock itself when it opens unlike other assisted open knives. Overall recomend.

  4. This knife has a STRONG assisted opening feature, so strong it will easily fly from your hand if your not ready for it. initially, i thought this knife was perfect. it’s sharp, grips well, FAST opening, solid, and it has a liner lock as well as a speed assist switch to keep it from opening in your pocket. my only gripe is the thumbs studs hurt after a few openings a day, which is why there’s a flipper. but after dropping it once, the plastic flipper broke off, which means thumb stud access only. ouch. a solid, aggressive knife. just don’t drop it.

Seems well constructed. MAGIC assisted opening system works fast and locks solidly. Overall fit and finish is good to very good for this price range.

It is described as “Black aluminum with black rubber inserts handle” and this is NOT correct. There are no rubber inserts. The textured area you see in the photo is VERY rough textured aluminum NOT rubber.

On the plus side this does provide a very positive gripping surface, but, IMHO, this material is too rough for a folder designed to be carried in a pocket or under clothing. It WILL abraid fabric and could easily get snagged being retrieved. It gives what otherwise might be 5 star rated knife a negative “feel”. The error in the description may be due to S&W (Taylor) planning to use rubber inserts but then deciding the cost was prohibitive. I wish it had been made with the rubber inserts texture or textured G10.
