My boys bought this knife for their father- it’s the ultimate survival knife with all the things stored in the handle. HOWEVER, within 1 day of getting the knife, my 8 year old by mistake replaced the cap (that goes on the end of the handle) upside down, the cap fell into the handle and it’s impossible to get out. THe knife is no longer a survival knife because none of those neat components can now be stored in the handle. I guess now it’s just a regular old knife. We are all very dissapointed. THe cap is in there for good.

It may not be the handiest knife in the world. It may not be the most aggressive or the most deadly. But it is undoubtedly a nice knife. The quality, while not amazing, is quite good. It might not last like a Cold Steel or a Ka-Bar, then again, you never paid this little for such a good knife. I have stabbed this thing through endless planks of wood, cut guitar strings, and have done a lot more abuse to this knife. It has gotten mildly dull, but then again it didn’t come razor sharp in the first place, and sharpening is not a pain in the ass. By the way, it comes with this screw-on cap that doubles as a compass on the bottom. Inside that, there is a container that has fishing lines, matches, fishing hooks, and some more survival stuff. All the better for camping. Now for the flaws. The black finish that is has on it may come off over time. This is inevitable with all coated-finish knives, so its no big deal. The sheath is made from ok grade nylon and the knife sometimes slides around because the little thing on the top that prevents the knife from falling when clipped, well that thing is loose. All in all, it was a little big for everyday use, but for a survival / camping knife, you are set, if you don’t mind an annoying sheath.
UPDATE!!!
The screw that keeps the knife blade on came slightly loose (after a lot of harsh stabbing though). It is extremely hard to tighten it, but it is negligible considering that I bought mine for 9 dollars. Amazon’s price seems a bit high now to me. But then again im too used to my Ka-Bar stabbing habits, so it could be my aggressive use. Still, its fantastic.
