This is a quick review on one of my favorite folding pocket knives of all time. The reasons that I feel this knife is one of the best are: 1) Quality Components – made out of zdp-189 steel and durable handle material. 2) Price – Can be had under .00 on eBay quite regulary. 3) Functional – very functional knife for almost any use, hunting, EDC, etc. My challenge to everyone out there is find a better knife that is similar for less money than this one that will hold an edge as long and is as tough and post a comment or video back here about the knife you find. Tech Specs: length overall 8 3/4″ (222mm) blade length 3 3/4″ (96mm) blade steel ZDP-189 length closed 5″ (127mm) cutting edge 3 7/16″ (88mm) weight 3.6oz (103g) hole diameter 1/2″ (13mm) blade thickness 1/8″ (3mm) handle material FRN The knife industry is constantly pushing the envelope searching for, and testing, higher performance blade steels. ZDP189 is rapidly asserting itself as an up-and-coming steel. It’s a powdered metal made by Hitachi that has phenomenal chemistry with 3% carbon. The hardness is around 64Rc and edge retention is exceptional. This solid ZDP-189 steel blade is the hottest, hardest and highest performing steel in the knife industry today. Video Rating: 4 / 5
